Rivers Hoopers book 2024 BAL finals ticket
Nigeria’s Rivers Hoopers are through to the finals of the 2024 Basketball African League (BAL) finals holding at the BK Arena, Kigali, Rwanda later this month.
Hoopers punched their ticket to the finals on Sunday by beating Armée Patriotique Rwandaise 86-82 points in game 2 of the Sahara Conference going on at the Dakar Arena.
On Match Day 1, Hoopers were too strong for the home boys, AS Douanes of Senegal. It ended 77-68 in favour of the Nigeria champion on Saturday.
Hoopers will conclude their business in Dakar with a clash against 2022 BAL winners Union Sportive Monastirienne of Tunisia on Monday.
So far, FUS Rabat of Morocco, Angola’s Petro de Luanda and South Africa Cape’s Town Tigers are through to the finals from the Kalahari Conference.
Defending champions Egypt’s Al Ahly, Al Ahly of Libya and Central African Republic’s Bangui SC advanced into the finals from the Nile Conference.
The 2024 BAL finals will be held from 24 May to 1 June at the BK Arena in Kigali the Rwandan capital.
