Former Governor of Imo State, Sen. Rochas Okorocha, has been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force.

He was arrested at REIZ Continental Hotel in central Abuja, over allegations of criminal conspiracy, forgery and impersonation.

His arrest comes after the former governor reportedly evaded repeated Police invitations in connection with an ongoing criminal investigation, prompting the Police to obtain a bench warrant for his arrest.

The Police reportedly said Okorocha was at first, invited to the Force Headquarters, Abuja, on Sept. 2, 2026.

However, the appointment was rescheduled to Sept. 8 at the request of his lawyers, a date he failed to honour.
