Former champions Safety Shooters produced a dominant performance at the ongoing Ardova Handball Premier League 2025 Phase 1 as they overpowered defending champions Tojemarine Handball Club 35–26 on Day 6 of action in Benin City, Edo State.
The Coach Innocent Nwankwo tutored side came out strong, taking a 17–13 lead into half time and maintained their momentum throughout the second half to hand Tojemarine their second defeat of the campaign.
Safety Shooters’ victory was built on coordinated team play and a high-press defense that neutralized Tojemarine’s attacking threats.
In other matches, Correction Boys cruised past Lagos Seasiders 34–19. After a relatively close first half that ended 17–14, Correction Boys completely shut down their opponents in the second period, allowing just five goals while scoring 17 of their own.
Osun United staged a come back to defeat De Defenders 25–21. Despite trailing 10–11 at the break, Osun found their rhythm in the second half in a tight match to earn a victory.
Adamawa Warriors kept up their solid form with a 33–24 victory over Benue Buffaloes. The Warriors led 16–13 at halftime and widened the gap in the second half to seal a comfortable win.
Rima Strikers edged two time champions Niger United 22–20 in a pulsating encounter. The Caliphate team held a 14–9 lead at halftime and managed to withstand a late push from Niger United to get a vital win
