Sarki Karshi, Top Football Stakeholders Set to Grace NLO Unity Preseason Tournament Final in Abuja
The Sarki Karshi, Alhaji Ismaila Mohammed, will be among prominent dignitaries expected to attend the final of the maiden edition of the Sarki Karshi NLO Unity Preseason Tournament, scheduled to take place at the Fosla Stadium in Abuja.
The highly anticipated final match will see Fosla Football Club face off against Mercy Tree Academy in what promises to be a thrilling encounter. Kickoff is slated for 3:00 PM.
Fosla Football Club secured their place in the final after topping Group A, while Mercy Tree Academy emerged as the best team from Group B, setting up a competitive clash between a league side and a non-league challenger.
A host of notable football administrators and stakeholders are also expected at the event. These include former Nigeria Football Federation President Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi, Chief Operating Officer of the Nigeria Nationwide League One Olushola Ogunnowo, North Central representative on the NLO Board Babatunde Akintade, and former Chairman of the FCT Football Association Alhaji Musa Talle, among others.
Speaking ahead of the final, the tournament coordinator, Patrick Ngwaogu, popularly known as “Odogwu,” expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the competition.
He noted that the tournament had successfully met its primary objective of preparing teams for the upcoming NLO season.
According to Ngwaogu, the Pre-season competition not only helped participating clubs build match fitness and cohesion but also created a valuable platform for non-league teams to showcase their talents against more established sides.
He further assured that lessons learned from the maiden edition would be used to improve subsequent tournaments, promising a more refined and impactful competition in the future.
The NLO Unity Pre-season Tournament has already begun to make its mark, following an earlier edition held in Gwagwalada in March 2026, where non-league side Sensational Stars Academy emerged champions, underscoring the growing competitiveness of grassroots football in the country.
