The process of selecting a new king for the fourth installment of the Scrabble In The Jungle! will commence this Friday in Lagos as six Legacy Keepers set sight on the crown.
The franchise which encapsulates endurance, skills, strategy, and guile has captured the imagination of many as contestants push their boundaries in the closed arena.
Six players including Khaleel Adedeji and Whiskey Godsfavour who are still fresh from the World Scrabble Championships in Ghana will be joined in the hunt by Daystar Atti, Salu Samson, Joseph Okere and Bayo Ahmed.
Cash prizes, prestige and honour will be the strong motivating factors set to propel the contestants into a calculated frenzy on the board where no prisoner is allowed in the 3-day competition.
The first day will open with 11 rounds which will be followed by 15 rounds in the next day before another 10 will be contested for on the last day including the King of the Hill (KOTH) bringing it to a total of 36 round of games.
President of Scrabble Las Vegas Musa Olasupo while congratulating the six participants for being selected for the Legacy Keepers’ edition, said he’s confident the players would put up a strong performance in the jungle.
He said their records earned them a place in this year’s edition.
“The Legacy Keepers edition of the Scrabble In The Jungle is definitely going to be an amazing championship” he declared.
“What we have in our hands this year will be one of the best editions of the Scrabble In The Jungle. Remember we started this journey in 2022 and you will agree with me that each version has generated its own unique aura. From the Word Spillers to the Gen Z edition and from there, we birthed the Hard Core version.”
“You see, what we aim to achieve is to create a bootcamp like ‘The Big Brother’ franchise, recreate similar settings in scrabble for enthusiasts to see the game in a different level where contestants of similar attributes go-against one another in an enclosed environment.”

Everyone can follow every move and strategies on the boards as well as annotations as they cheer their preferred player over the next three days.
Governing bodies; Nigeria Scrabble Federation (NSF), Pan-African Scrabble Association (PANASA) and World English language Scrabble Players Association (WESPA) habe concluded plans to rate the tournament.
