Sen. Adighije, a trail blazer, says Uzodimma

The Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma has eulogised Senator Chris Adighije who has turned 80, joining the third Republic senator’s family, colleagues, friends and well wishers to celebrate his birthday at the weekend in Umuahia.

Speaking during the Interdenominational Thanksgiving Service held at Queen Elizabeth’s Hospital Chapel (FMC) Umuahia in Abia State on Saturday, March 22, 2025, Uzodimma described the Senator, and astute politician, as “one of Nigeria’s best and brightest.”

His words: “I am here to celebrate with one of our best and brightest. He is not only a trailblazer; he is a man with deep knowledge of the country. A man who many of us have one thing or the other to copy from. Indeed, I can testify that Senator Adighije is a good man.”

The Imo Governor thanked his Abia State counterpart, Governor Alex Otti and all those who came in solidarity from far and near to celebrate a man that has ascended “the 8th floor” yet looking so strong and aging gracefully.

“My prayer is that I want to get to the 8th floor looking as strong as Senator Chris Adighije,” Uzodimma noted.

He enjoined all to pray God to grant the celebrant the enabling strength and wisdom to complete the race He has destined for him.

“And as we pray, we pray also looking back,  that what we wish  you, also will get to us.”

The event was indeed a gathering of personalities and power brokers across the country.

Notable among them are, a former Senate President, Senator David Mark, Senators Enyinnaya Abaribe, Austin Akobundu, Osita Izunaso, Chris Ngige among others.

Others were the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun who represented President Bola Tinubu, Deputy National Chairman South of the APC, Chief Emma Enukwu, former Minister of States, Science and Technology, Chief Henry Ikoh, among others.
