Seplat Petroleum donates relief materials to Imo flood victims

One of the oil companies operating in Imo State, Seplat Petroluem Development Company, SPDC, has donated relief materials to victims of last year’s flood disaster in parts of the state.
A delegation of the firm led by the Operations Manager, Mr Efiong Okong presented the relief materials to victims today (Wednesday) through the state government, in Owerri, the state capital.
The truckload of items donated by Seplat include; mattresses, pillows, cartons of Kings Vegetable Oil, 50kg bags of rice among several others.
Receiving the items, Governor Emeka Ihedioha thanked the management of Seplat for their show of concern and for their usual partnership with the government of Imo State.
The governor described the company as a responsible corporate citizens commended Seplat for the gesture and expressed happiness that the oil firm has its office in the state.
His words, ” We are happy you have your office physically in Imo State. That shows you are a responsible Corporate Citizen.”
Earlier in his speech, the company’s leader of delegation, Mr Okong explained that the donation was made to further demonstrate his company’s commitment towards the well-being of members of its host Communities and the state at large.
He assured that Seplat would continue to pursue policies and programmes targeted at improving the living conditions of the population and make timely necessary interventions in times of need.
