CAF Confederation Cup: Enyimba boss, Anyansi goes spiritual…calls for prayers

Enyimba chairman, Felix Anyansi Agwu was simply short of words after his club failed to win Sunday night at home against their Moroccan opponent, Agadir in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Anyansi who went spiritual called for genuine lovers and fans of the club to pray for the team ahead of the last group game away against Ivorian side, San Pedro, even as he insisted that some of the chances Enyimba threw away was simply inexplainable.
“It is painful to see us draw a match in which we should have scored at least four goals. Well, this is football and all I can say is that we need prayers, don’t forget when you put in your very best, you now need God to crown your efforts with success. One thing I know is that God has always been on the side of Enyimba and he will not abandon us in this trying time. As I said we need prayers moving forward and by his Grace, we would overcome,” Anyansi said.
Sunday’s tie was one in which Enyimba came from behind to secure a point. Agadir scored first in the 3rd minute only for Austin Oladipo to restore parity in the 30th minute. The second half saw Enyimba throwing away an avalanche of begging chances to the surprise of their fans.
