Sierra Leone won’t be easy -Mr Football warns

By George Aluo
Renowned soccer historian, Ejikeme Ikwunze is not expecting an easy game for the Super Eagles in Friday’s Afcon qualifier against Sierra Leone.

Ikwunze, a former director of sports (Abia state) in a chat with newstap.com.ng said Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr must not take any chances.

In his words…”There are no cinderellas in African football. So, Gernot Rohr should play the form of the players and not the name of the player. He should line up resolute defenders, mobile midfielders and predatory and prolific strikers. He should tinker his strategy of substituting his players.”

A win for the Eagles in the two legged tie that are to be decided friday (Benin)  and Freetown next Tuesday would see them land in Cameroon for next year’s AFCON.

Rohr has on his part said he would be going for the six points against Sierra Leone since he wants to put AFCON qualifier behind and concentrate on the road to Qatar 2022 for the World Cup.
