Southern Conference Clubs Forum congratulates El-kanemi, lauds NNL leadership
The leadership of the Southern Conference Clubs have congratulated players, coaches and entire management of El-kanemi Football Club for winning the 2024 edition of the President Federation Cup competition after defeating Abia Warriors FC at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan waterfront on Saturday 29th June, 2024.
In a statement signed by the Leader of the Conference Tony Rafua, the body said she is proud and elated that a member from the Nigeria National League Clubs eventually emerged champions of the oldest and most prestigious football competition in the land and haven equally secured promotions to the Nigeria Professional Football League during the Super 8 playoff in Enugu ahead of the FA Cup triumph.
The Conference also officially commended the Board and Management of the Nigeria National League led by George Aluo.
The forum noted that the the league body have successfully conducted the best of the promotion playoffs so far witnessed in the history of the league at Enugu.
“The transparency in the general conduct of the tournament and the fair officiating by the referees deserves commendation.”
While enjoining the promoted clubs to the NPFL to be a worthy ambassadors of the NNL and work hard to remain for others to join by next season, the body called on the NNL to speedily consult widely and come up with program of activities for the next football season to enable the clubs kick-start preparations on time for yet another smooth season.
