Anambra FA condemns attack on Refs

The chairman of Anambra FA, Chikelue Iloenyosi has condemned the attack on the referees that handled the Edel, Giant Brila NNL tie at the Awka City Stadium.
Iloenyosi in a statement made available to the media said violence in football is totally unacceptable no matter how well or bad officiating may have been in a game.
“Football is all about friendship and not violence. As FA, we condemn what happened in the Edel, Giant Brila tie and would do everything to avoid a repeat of it. Fans should not resort to violence no matter how aggrieved they may be,” Iloenyosi said.
It would be noted that the Edel, Giant Brila derby ended in violence with the centre referee and his assistants being battered.
