Suleja Shooters, Soof Handball Club Maintain Lead On Day 4 of National Division One League

Suleja Shooters and Soof Handball Club earned vital victories on Tuesday to lead the pack in the men and women categories respectively on Day 4 of the National Division One League 2025 ongoing in Umuahia, Abia State
Starting with the men category, Suleja Shooters fought hard to secure a 22–17 victory over Cannan Tigers in a keenly contested encounter. The Shooters took a narrow 10–8 lead at halftime before pulling away in the second half to seal the win.
The victory, which is their third in Group A of the Men category, earned them 9 maximum points and make them the leaders the group without any defeat.
In other matches in the men’s category, Vipers of Jos maintained their strong form with a 28–23 win over Edo Dynamos, having dominated the first half 16–9 to see them qualify to the next round in second place with 6 points in group B. They are behind U & H Abia who are topping Group B with 9 maximum points.
Kwara edged Bayelsa United 20–18 in another tight contest, while the Airforce proved too strong for Kutus Academy, cruising to a 34–17 triumph.
In the women’s category, Girl Child Academy stunned Kwara in a pulsating 25–23 victory, holding off a late fightback after leading 10–9 at halftime. They both have 6 points in Group A but Kwara are in second place with a better goal difference of 106 than Girl Child’s 68.
Soof Handball Club also enjoyed a comfortable outing and leads Group A with 9 points following their 31-10 victory over Airforce Babes. It was a comfortable match for them because they built a commanding 17–4 lead in the first half.
