Sunshine coach, Deutsch on cloud nine over Monimichelle turf

Sunshine stars new manager, Emmanuel Deutsch has expressed delight over the state of the Awka City Stadium turf constructed by Monimichelle.

Deutsch who spoke after his side played out a goalless draw against Rangers said the pitch allowed for free flowing football even as he urged the LMC to ensure that the Awka standard is maintained nationwide.

Deutsch said with a perfect playing surface his boys played to instruction and was able to get a draw against a very solid Rangers side.

“This pitch is very good. It supports free flowing football and we enjoyed playing on it. If this kind of pitch is everywhere in Nigeria it would be great. My boys enjoyed playing here and a goalless draw is not a bad result,” he said.

Deutsch’s comment is coming few days after Remo Stars gaffer, Gbenga Ogunbote also heaped plaudits on Monimichelle pitches.

It would be noted that Monimichelle, the nation’s number one stadium facilities construction outfit also constructed the Enyimba Stadium turf as well as the Aper Aku stadium, Makurdi, the Kakanda Stadium, Katsina and the turf at the Ikenne stadium, home of Remo Stars.
