Stop experimenting and build a solid team, Ndubuoke tells Rohr

By George Aluo

Veteran sports journalist, Fan Ndubuoke (Ezinwa Mbaise) has joined the league of those who are not impressed with the way Gernot Rohr is going about his Super Eagles job, even as he insisted the man must change tactics if he must not fail Nigerians who want to see him win trophies for the country.

Ndubuoke in an exclusive chat with newstap.com.ng ahead of Eagles international friendly against Tunisia on Tuesday said Rohr must stop his endless experiments with new players and build a team that can rule the continent.

“Since he (Rohr) took charge, all he has been doing is building a new team of young players. As it is now, Rohr should have finished building. We want to see him present a solid team that Nigerians can be proud of. He has started another round of experiments from what we saw against Algeria. That is not the way to go except he is telling us he has nothing more to offer than calling up players of Nigerian heritage. We want to see him present a solid team instead of hiding under the cover of…”I have a young team. He has been on the saddle long enough for us to start seeing him present a team that can take on the rest of Africa.”

Continuing Ndubuoke said…”Rohr may end experimenting into the next AFCON and World Cup and at the end of the day come up with another round of excuses on why he can’t deliver.”

Ndubuoke berated the Franco German tactician for doing little or nothing to develop Nigerian football and paying zero attention to the domestic league scene.

The Super Eagles, last week in Austria returned to action after 11 months of inactivity, no thanks to coronavirus, with a game against African champions Algeria, losing by a lone goal.
