Housing FC Team Manager Thanks Dep. Gov. Bayo Lawal For Team’s Success

The team manager of the AITEO Cup State finalist, Housing Corporations Football Club, Mr. Okesiji Abiola has attributed many successes recorded by the traditional club in 2022 to the huge support enjoyed by the club from the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Lawal.
It will be recalled that Chief Bayo Lawal in March 2021 resuscitated the Housing Football Club that had been in the doldrums for many years while serving as the Chairman of Oyo State Housing Corporation with aims to create employment opportunities for the talented youths in the state and bring back the lost glory of the club.
Okesiji, while reviewing the activities of the club in a chat with the newsmen in Ibadan thanked the Deputy Governor for deeming it fit to bring back the club, saying the club has also greatly justified that decision with sterling performance since it returned in 2021.
“Oyo State Housing Corporation FC topped the group table and was promoted to NLO Division II on the 21st July, 2022. On 7th June, 2022 we played Crown FC, Ogbomoso, in the semi-final of the AITEO Cup and defeated them penalty shootout after a 0-0 draw and played against Saki United at the final on Wednesday, 15th June, 2022 and lost but qualified to represent the state as runners-up with Saki United.
“Housing Corp. FC participated in the national AITEO Cup and defeated Jigawa Golden Stars by four goals to two in the round of 64 on Saturday, 30th July, 2022 and was eliminated by DMD FC of Borno on 3rd August at the round of 32”, said Okesiji while reviewing the activities of the club.
Speaking in the same vein, the Head Coach of the club, Sanusi Musiliu Kolawole popularly known as Ilerika has also thanked the management of the team for creating good enabling environment for his job and the boys to showcase their talents while requesting to increase the number of the players to 26 for adequate rotation against injuries and stress.
“I’m happy working with the management of Housing Corp. FC because they have showed good spirit of sportsmanship and good working environment for the job we do to strive, but I want to use this medium to request for increase in the numbers of our players and a larger bus, like Coaster 30-seater-bus to enhance team’s movement during our campaign in the Nationwide League One that will kick-off soon”, said Coach Ilerika.
