Team Nigeria suffers more Olympic table tennis disappointment

Team Nigeria’s hope of recording a win at the table tennis event of the ongoing Paris 2024 Olympics suffered another setback early today following Fatimo Bello’s defeat in Round 64 of the women’s Singles.

The Nigerian player lost 0-4 to French player, Nan Jia Yuan who coasted to victory to progress to the Round 32.

Making her debut in the Olympics the loss expected to serve as a learning curve for Bello into subsequent international competitions.

Today’s collapse in table tennis continues Nigeria’s losing streak in all the events she has participated in so far at the Games.

In yesterday’s action, Olaitan Olaore lost out in the men’s heavyweight boxing while Super Falcons fell 0-1 to world champions Spain in their second group match of the women’s football tournament.
