Top Stars advance as Invitational table tennis tournament ends Monday
Top seed, Mathew Kuti, the defending Champion of the Africa Table Tennis invitational tournament and other top stars are in the final stage of the event which ends in Abeokuta on Monday at the Alake Sports Centre , Ijeja, Abeokuta.
The annual competition started on Saturday in the ancient city with 25 players and so far eight players are in the quarter-final stage.
The coordinator of the tournament, coach Wale Ajetunmobi, said the final day would be highly thrilling and explosive.
“What we saw in the early stages was enough to tell us what to expect in the final stages.
” The top seeds are still in contention and we expect a charged atmosphere to further propel the players to up their game.
“It has been a very good event and we thank our sponsors in Diaspora who are showing keen interest to develop the game and raise future champions,” Ajetunmobi said.
