TULIP International School visits NFF for football development insights
The General Secretary of Nigeria Football Federation, Dr Mohammed Sanusi, on Wednesday conducted an insightful and informative session with a group of students and teachers from Tulip International School, Abuja, at the NFF Headquarters.
The interactive segment primarily focused on the issue of football development in Nigeria and the NFF’s role in fostering close ties to bridge political and regional relationships with other countries through football. It also addressed the role of women’s football and the NFF’s efforts in talent identification and development in that domain.
After the session, Sanusi stated that: “The purpose is to emphasise the role of sports in promoting national unity, cohesion, and development. Additionally, it is important to assess what the Nigeria Football Federation is doing to establish a global presence, particularly in the Africa Cup of Nations. Participants discussed the last Africa Cup of Nations finals in Morocco and our perspectives on it. We also discussed the necessary steps to advance women’s football, including early talent identification from schools and communities.”
Mubashir Shahzad, the Public Relations Officer of the school, remarked that the NFF is making significant efforts to impact the youth positively and maintain transparency throughout the process. “I have observed that the NFF is diligently working to develop and engage the youth in football while ensuring transparency and elevating standards. In this regard, they are fully committed, and we believe their efforts will positively influence regional sports leadership. We wish them continued success,” he concluded.
Present during the visit were the the Director of Competitions, Ms Ruth David, the Director of Finance and Administration, Mr Rajan Zaka, along with some NFF Staff and students of Tulip International School.
