Uganda coach blames inexperience for loss to Senegal

Uganda coach, Sebastien Desabre has blamed lack of experience for their painful 1-0 loss to Senegal on Friday.
Desabre who spoke after the game in which Liverpool forward Sadie Mane missed his second penalty kick of the tournament said inexperience cost his side.

“We started in a bad way because there was a lot of pressure on our players. The mistake we did cost us much because it came in front of a player like Sadio Mane. After the goal we conceded, we were better and had many chances but unfortunately Senegal was better than us. We were not far from qualification against the best side in this tournament, Senegal. We did well and played beautiful football, and Uganda is a team with brilliant future.”
Senegalese coach, Aliou Cisse on his part gave Uganda a pat on the back declaring that there are no more minnows in African football.
“Uganda game was tough as there are no small teams anymore in Africa. All teams can win and we have to be always ready. We trust Sadio Mane much and he was one of the reasons we qualified today. He will remain number 1 for penalties. We have to prepare well for the next game. We are a team that looks for win whoever our opponent is,” Cisse said.
Total Man of the Match, Idrissa Gana Gueye, who was still basking in the euphoria of Senegal’s qualification for the last eight stated:
“We are happy to be in the quarter finals. The game was complicated against a tough opponent but we were focused to win. It’s still a long way to the title and what we think of now is the next match against Benin.”
