Ukraine war: EPL suspends 43 million pounds deal with Russian broadcaster

Russia has continued to suffer economic loss over her invasion of Ukraine with the latest coming from the English premiership where Abrahimoch has already been stripped of his ownership of Chelsea.

The Premier League today announced the suspension of her  £43m six-year deal with Russian broadcaster Match TV over the country’s invasion of Ukraine.

According to a BBC report a previous deal with Russian media group Rambler was suspended in March after the war began – and a new contract with Match TV was set up in its place.

But with the conflict in Ukraine showing no signs of easing, the Premier League announced at its annual general meeting today that the new deal has been put on hold.

It would be noted that Manchester City won the EPL title this season with Ukrainian defender Alexander Zinchenko playing a major role.
