Umuezie Election : Unity In Political Diversity, Key For Community Development, Former IMSUAA Boss Tells New Executive

A former National President of the Imo State University Alumni (IMSUAA) High Chief Enyioha Chris Anyanwu, the Akaraugo I of Okwuato Ancient Kingdom, has charged the newly elected executive of the Umuezie Autonomous Community in Aboh Mbaise LGA of Imo State to be united and place the community interest first irrespective of their individual differences.
High Chief Enyioha who is currently the President of the Umuezie Welfare group, a group that mobilized and ensured that the town union election went peacefully disclosed this to the newly elected executive after their election on April 21, 2025 as the newly elected executive take charge of affairs in Umuezie Community.
“Moving the Umuezie community is what is paramount and not the interest of an individual” Anyanwu started by telling Comrade Canice Amechi who emerged as the President of the Town Union with 159 votes and his new executive.
“The community must be United and the interest of an individual or group of person’s must not be allowed to jeopardize the growth and development of Umuezie Community”.
“Two brothers can be in the same executive and disagree on issues and that should not give room for enmity and this even applies to husband and wife. Couples can disagree on issues too but it cannot separate them”.
Enyioha reminded the new executive about the NDDC Project that is supposed to bring electricity to Umuezie and also charged them to look into it and ensure that the appropriate thing is done to ensure that Umuezie Community benefits from it.
He also assured members of the executive and community all present that there is no child from Umuezie that will secure admission into higher institution to study a viable course that the Umeuzie Welfare Group will not support to make sure that their dreams of schooling are not achieved.
The election which took place at the Umuezie Town hall meeting had notable personalities in attendance such as Aboh Mbaise LGA Chairman Barr. Iheukwumere Alaribe represented by the Hon. Supervising councillor for Finance and Budgeting Hon. John Ikewe, Councillor of Ahiato Ward and leader of the House Hon. Anthony Ndiulo, HRH Eze Kenneth Oparaji, Ezeigbo of Rivers State and Bayelsa, the Chairman of APC Ahiato Ward Hon. Declan and the President Nguru Nwekwo Town Union, Prince A. O Amadioko. High Chief CY Nnadi (Ọnwa of Texas) members of the Nigeria Police, DSS and media houses.
Others are Evangelist Bethran Uzodima, Hon. Franklin Ogu, Engr. IG Ohaeri Smart, Ndubuisi Chilaka and personalities from the various walks of life.
