” I can tell you that all logistics have been adequately taken care of and we’re eagerly awaiting the kickoff of the Games.

On preparation of UNILAG athletes for the Games, he explained that they’re fully prepared as they have been in camp for over one month and their welfare well taken care of.
He said they’ve also had a feel of all the facilities except the Olympic size Swimming which is being treated regularly but they recently had access to it for them to acclimatize
” UNILAG athletes have no reason not to win medals because they have prepared well and have had a feeling of the facilities put in place for the Games
” Apart from the swimming pool which we have to treat regularly, they have had a feel of all the facilities while the swimmers had their own training sessions at the Olympic size swimming pool at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

He further assured that adequate security personnel would be on ground to maintain law and order.

” As you know University of Lagos is not new to organising historical event in the country. In 1999 when Nigeria hosted the Petit World Cup, Brazil and Paraguay trained here without any complaint.

“Also when UNILAG hosted the 2022 NUGA Games, it was adjudged as the best Games ever held in the country and that’s what we want to see happen in this Games because UNILAG is Lagos and the Games is definitely going to be Eko For Show
” But being mindful that the issue of security should not be taken for granted and that the University has some communities surrounding it like Akoka, Bariga, Iwaya, we must take necessary security measures to ensure a hitch free Games”, concluded Salau who is in charge of Operations in the media team.
