Valentine Day : Be compassionate , patriotic, Madumere advises humanity

As the world celebrates February 14th each year as the Patron Valentine day, His Excellency, Prince Eze Madumere, former Deputy Governor of Imo State has advised humanity especially Imolites to be compassionate and patriotic in all their endeavours

Madumere disclosed this in his well worded Valentine message, noting compassion and patriotism as the true essence of love beyond celebrations and festivities.

He reiterated the need for enduring virtues of compassion, sacrifice, unity and selflessness, noting these virtues as critical in building a peaceful and progressive society.

The astute politician further observed that Valentine’s Day should not only be about the exchange of gifts but about demonstrating genuine care for one another, especially the vulnerable, the less privileged and those facing difficult times.

According to him, “Valentine’s Day calls us back to the fundamentals of humanity and humanitarian services. Love is the foundation upon which families are built, communities are strengthened and nations are transformed.”

Madumere emphasized that Imo State, with its rich cultural heritages and strong communal bonds, thrives best when its people live in harmony and unity of purpose.

He passionately advised the populace to use the occasion to mend broken relationships, promote forgiveness and foster peaceful coexistence across political, religious and social lines.

“Our diversity should be a source of strength, not division. Love remains the greatest force for unity,” he stated.

The former Deputy Governor also enjoined leaders at all levels to lead with empathy and a genuine commitment to the welfare of the people, pointing out that leadership should be rooted in love and service that would inspired hope and drives sustainable development and transformation.

According to him,“when leadership is guided by love, justice and fairness, naturally progress and happiness follows”.

Addressing the youth, Madumere, further urged them to channel their energy into productive ventures and to show love through responsible actions that would contribute positively towards the societal growth and transformations.

He also reminded them that true love reflects in respect, discipline and willingness to uplift others rather than exploit or harm them.

The ex-Deputy Governor wished the global families, friends and especially residents of Imo State a memorable Valentine’s Day celebration, praying for renewed peace, prosperity and unity across the state.

The former Imo State number two citizen, also reaffirmed his abiding faith in the resilience of the people, expressing confidence that through love and collective goodwill, Imo State will continue on the path of progress and shared prosperity.

It’s pertinent to recall that Saint Valentine is a 3rd-century Roman Saint, honored on February 14, known as the Patron Saint of lovers, young people, and happy marriages.

According to tradition, he was a Priest or Bishop who was martyred by Emperor Claudius II for secretly marrying Christian couples to prevent men from being conscripted into war.
