W/Cup qualifier: Super Eagles Camp opens June 1

Nigeria’s Super Eagles will begin preparation for the Match Day 3 and 4 of the 2026 World Cup qualifier on the 1st of June.
After picking two draws in the last two games against Lesotho and Zimbabwe, Super Eagles will face Bafana Bafana of South Africa and Cheetah of Benin in the next round of games.
Information available to newstap.com.ng indicates that the Super Eagles under the newly appointed Coach, Finidi George will open camp on the 1st of June in Uyo.
The NFF made it clear that the invited players will be contacted starting from next week.
The game against South Africa is slated for the Godswill Akpabio Stadiun in Uyo while the Benin Republic game will come up at the the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan.
As hosts of the encounter, Benin were hoping to trade tackles with the Super Eagles at their national stadium; the 35,000-capacity Stade de l’Amitie in Cotonou.
However, the Benin Football Federation could not convince the Confederation of African Football, CAF, that the facility could host a match of that magnitude.
