Female football prodigy, Temi Omagbemi good for Flamingoes

One of the high rising Nigerian Women football league player, Temi Omagbemi who has been mesmerizing her mates on the pitch and receiving accolades from fans and coaches across the country deserves a place in the present U-17 team popularly known as Flamingoes.

Watching the highly talented and gifted player who plies her trade with Royal Queens of Warri, Delta display her football artistry leaves no one in doubt that she has what it takes to beef up the team presently handled by Coach Bankole Olowokere as they prepare for qualifiers for the 2024 FIFA U-17 World Cup to be hosted by Dominican Republic.

Omagbemi who just turned 16 and plays as a left full back was an integral member of Delta State women football team at last year’s National Sports Festival hosted by the state where she not only performed well but received accolades from the organisers.

And since joining Royal Queens, she one of the dependable players of the club ; improving game after game and right now is the moving force behind the successes recorded so far by Royal Queens of Warri.

In a recent interaction with the cool headed and disciplined player, she noted that playing for the national team is her main target just as she believes that her performance will convince the national team handlers to extend invitation to her.

In her words ” I always believe that my skills will speak for me. And whenever the opportunity comes for me to be invited to the national team, I’ll see it as a great honour and will never disappoint my country”.

Omagbemi who said her concern now is to help her team get a good result against Nasarawa Amazons in this weekend fixtures described her talent as a gift from God just as she expressed hope of playing football at the highest level.

” I can say that football runs in my family and what you see me display on the pitch is God’s gift which I have sustained with hard work and determination and I believe that as a young player, the sky is my limit.

She further promised not to be carried away by her present form but to continue to improve on her talent and help her club end the season well even as she commended her coaches and team mates for being behind her success.

Considering her present form, there is no doubt that Temi Omagbemi will be of great asset to the Flamingoes especially now that the coaching crew need quality players to enhance the team’s qualification for the petit World Cup in Dominican Republic.
