Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer of Monimichelle Sports Facility Construction Company, Ebi Egbe has declared that sports is a veritable tool that can be used to curb youth restiveness in the Niger Delta region of the country.
The stadium construction expert told newstap com.ng that there’s need for governments in the Niger Delta states to invest heavily in sports because the region boosts of talented youths whose involvement in one sporting activity or the other will keep them busy as well as make them think less about restiveness.
“There’s need for Governors in the Niger Delta region to invest heavily in sports development because sports is a big business and capable of keeping the youths busy and out of crime and restiveness in the region.
“Experience has shown that when a youth is involved in sports, he’ll be focused and busy with his training and think less about crime and I recommend that sports development should be highly encouraged as a means of fighting restiveness”, he concluded.
