D’Warriors Reload Afresh With Godsfavour, Okim, Onakpogbe For New MSPL Season

Mindgames Scrabble Premier League campaigners, D’Warriors have successfully secured the services of three strategic scrabble players ahead of the league’s take-off date in February.

D’Warriors had a decent outing last season where they missed out of the prize-sharing pot in Division B narrowly.
In an e-unveilng ceremony, Team co-owner Khaleel Adedeji disclosed that the acquisition of the trio is to further reinforce and recalibrate their targets for the forthcoming season.
“Going into a new season, there is always a fresh hope of believing we can accomplish our dreams. Despite being affected by the league rules of not having more than one 1400, we had to go to the market once again to get players deem fit to secure us promotion to Division A.”
Leading the pick is veteran mindgame strategist Eugene Okim who joins the team as a champion with a rating of 1387.
His huge experience on the board has been described as a valuable addition to the team.
2021 winner in Division B with Merry-ers Whiskey Godsfavour comes with a winning aura having won a gold medal at the Edo 2020 National Sports Festival.
With a rating of 1348 points, the team management believes his championship experience can push the team across the promotion line.
Completing the trio is young and vibrant Oghenekaro Onokpogbe who is regarded as a signpost for the future.
The strong belief in his ability and skills endeared him to the managers of D’Warriors who decided to place him in the vision of the team.
According to Adedeji, “Oghenekaro is another player we are willing to invest in, he is a prospect I developed interest in from Asaba Opens earlier last year” he explained, “he has played fewer rated games and he is very young. We hope he keeps his head high and play with his heart to be able to help the team.”
Tayo Osibote maintained her position as the Team Manager.
The three players will team up with “Delta 2022” silver-medal winning Babatunde Adeagbo, Qamar Adebowale as well as Adedeji who maintained his dual role as a player/manager for another challenge for the title.
The management also announced it has concluded all arrangements with United States of America-based Akeem Akanni as a partner.
The fresh moves by the club has already been eliciting some excitement among close watchers of the sport.
Many have given their positive nod to the refreshing changes at both levels of the team as they eagerly await the start of another season of scrabble league in the country.
