Why SV Award Is unique, Edo State First Lady

Ahead of this year’s edition of Sportsville Special Recognition Award, the First Lady of Edo State, Her Excellency Mrs. Betsy Obaseki, has spoken of why the annual award ceremony is different and unique!

Mrs. Obaseki, the initiator of the annual Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament, Nigeria’s foremost pre-season tournament, made the observation when she received her award last year.

Let’s rewind to her statement:
“I have received several top awards in the course of my work in Nigeria, but I must say this Sportsville Award is extra special to me because it’s coming from a very credible organisation that everybody here tonight makes reference to. This is highly commendable!
“It is also one award, unlike many others, that don’t come with an invoice, in fact you wouldn’t have seen me here if this award had any monetary attachment.”
She further added: “I urge you to keep up the good job because I can see the award going bigger and bigger in years to come.”
