Boxing : Kwara State Coaches Association seek Yucateco’s assistance in talent development
The Kwara state boxing clubs coaches association has called on Africa’s leading boxing promotional outfit Yucateco boxing promotions to come to the aid of young pugilists in the state.
The association in a letter addressed to the boxing outfit requested Yucateco to stage a scouting programme in Ilorin for young pugilists.
According to the body, Kwara state boasts of boxing talents across all weight categories with the potential to become global champions if properly nurtured.
The coaches union discribed Yucateco boxing promotions as Africa’s most vibrant promotional outfit with a knack for developing amateur boxers.
The association further stated that the Yucateco structure which has remoulded amateur boxing development in Nigeria should be emulated by the Nigeria Boxing Federation and other boxing promoters.
Season 2 of the Yucateco boxing league will get on the way in Lagos on Friday July 26th. The first of it kind boxing league in Africa which debuted in 2023 will hold in fourteen different states and communities.
