Wrestling Championship: PWA holds massive road walk in Lagos
..As Wrestlers talk tough ahead of event


National Stadium, Surulere Lagos and it’s environs stood still for hours on Saturday, April, 11 2026, as Pro- Wrestling Africa, the body charged with developing wrestling in all countries of the continent, wrestlers, fans and lovers of the mats man game took over the whole vicinity of the massive edifice, creating awareness about the forthcoming Allied Independent Wrestling Federations Intercontinental Championship to be hosted by the state on May 3rd , this year
As early as 8am, the Local organizing committee of the championship led by the Secretary General of Pro- Wrestling Africa paraded all the stadium vicinity and it’s environs such as Shitta, Adeniran Ogunsanya, Ogulana Drive, Surulere with banners, showcasing the wrestlers that will be in action on that day.
They also distributed flyers, inviting members of the public to the greatest wrestling show that will happen on the African continent.
Speaking at the well attended event, Secretary General of PWA, Olusesan Olukoya, explained that the road show became important so that Nigerians will know that such a big event involving some of the best wrestlers in Africa will be invading the country for the championship which will be held at the Gymnasium Hall of the National Institute For Sports ( NIS), Lagos.
” We decided to organize the road show inorder to create awareness of the forthcoming fight which will attract the best mats men and women from various countries in Africa and am happy that people responded very well to the awareness campaign”, he stated
According to him, wrestlers from Nigeria, Ghana, Benin Republic, Togo, Zimbabwe, Angola, Cameroon and Zambia will be on ground to showcase their talents.
He further explained that the greatest fight of the night will be AIWF intercontinental heavyweight title fight between Nigerian Jimmy Palm, ‘The African Dream’ and Jimmy James of Zambia.
He listed other wrestlers that will be in action to include; Nigeria National Heavyweight Champion, Mighty Man, Hulk Power of Benin Republic, De Miser of Ghana and Fred Rodrick of Nigeria.
Others are; Cameroonians, Albatross and Le Maboule as well as women sensational fighters, Favour from Nigeria and Jenna Swift, amongst others.
The PWA scribe used the opportunity to appeal to corporate organizations and public spirited individuals to support the championship.
” As we prepare for this championship which is the first of it’s kind to happen in this part of the world, it’s important, I appeal to corporate Nigeria and public spirited individuals to partner with us and make the championship a big success” he stressed.
Meanwhile Jimmy Palm who will be gunning for the intercontinental title has declared total war on his Zambian opponent; assured his fans that he’ll not disappoint.
” I’m fully prepared for my opponent from Zambia. There’s no way he will come all the way from Southern Africa to be crowned champion here. By the time I finish with him, he will not think of wrestling again because I’m going to retire him .
” I have been watching his video fights and I have discovered his strength and weaknesses which I will capitalize in punishing him to submission”, he declared.
Also speaking, Mighty Man and favour said they’re not afraid of any opponent as they have done their home work well, waiting for the D-Day.
