Players union: Iloenyosi faults Tajudeen Disu

Chairman Board of Trustees of new players union, All Nigeria Football Players Union (ANFPU), Chikelue Iloenyosi has faulted the position of Tajudeen Disu that the body is being used by officials of the nation’s football governing body, NFF.

Tajudeen Disu who spoke in the United States where he is on holidays said he is rallying Nigerian ex internationals to speak with one voice, even as he dismissed ANFPU as a body that was born to cause confusion.

Iloenyosi while re acting to Disu’s claim said Tajudeen Disu is completely on his own and did not speak the mind of the nation’s legion of ex internationals in the diaspora, especially those in the USA.

“ANFPU was born to change the narrative when it comes to players union. For over three decades the union was in the hands of those who did nothing to help its members. We believe all that had to change and that was why ANFPU was born by men of integrity. I m in touch with ex internationals in the United States and they told me in clear terms that Tajudeen is on his own. In less than one month, we have hit the ground running and making some visible impacts which is there for everybody to see. The era when some people enjoyed themselves in the name of players union is gone. We are out to drive the welfare of our members. We are out to touch lives. We are out to run a union which every player both active and retired would be proud of. That we have not been responding to what some people have been saying about the union is because we don’t want to be distracted. We want to remain focused on the task ahead because there is so much to do. Without blowing our trumpet, Tajudeen and co have seen what we have done in less than one month. Let him tell us what the players union did in the past. Who did they help…all that are about to change with the emergence of ANFPU.”
