You have written your name in gold, Shaibu tells Gusau

Immediate past Deputy Governor of Edo State, Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu has commended the President of Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau for his transformation agenda, telling him that he has written his name in gold in the history of Nigerian football.

Shaibu made the declaration Tuesday, March 18, 2025 in Abuja during the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Players’ Hostel and a number of new training pitches in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

According to the former Edo State number two citizen, Gusau’s leadership style, prudence and an all embracing administration has put him ahead of former bosses of the football house, urging him not to be distracted in his efforts at moving the game forward.

Shaibu stated that the construction of the players’ hostel and other sporting facilities will save money for the football house noting that there’s need for all to applaud Gusau for the milestone achievement.

“I want to commend Alhaji Gusau for what he’s doing for Nigerian football. The projects whose foundation stone were laid today are long overdue because of its immense benefits and I must say that Gusau has written his name in gold in the history of Nigerian football,” he concluded.
