2026 NLO Cup: Kick-Off Moved to October 17

The Nationwide League One (NLO) has announced a one-week adjustment to the commencement date of the 2026 NLO Cup, with the tournament now set to kick off on Saturday, October 17, 2026.

The competition was initially scheduled to commence on Saturday, October 10, but the NLO Secretariat said the adjustment became necessary to allow for additional logistical preparations, ongoing maintenance works at some designated venues, and the completion of registration and other administrative requirements by participating clubs.

In a revised notification issued to all participating clubs, the Secretariat explained that the extension was made in the overall interest of the competition and is intended to ensure that all necessary arrangements are concluded ahead of the tournament.

The NLO further confirmed that the official match fixtures will be released no later than Tuesday, October 13, 2026, allowing clubs sufficient time to make the necessary preparations for their respective matches.

The Secretariat acknowledged that the change in date may have an impact on the logistical arrangements, travel plans and technical preparations of participating clubs.

However, it stressed that the decision was taken to guarantee a seamless, competitive and successful tournament for all stakeholders.

The NLO therefore appealed to all participating clubs to remain cooperative and continue with their preparations towards the new commencement date.

The 2026 NLO Cup is expected to further strengthen the league’s commitment to providing competitive opportunities for clubs and emerging talents while contributing to the continued growth and development of grassroots football across the country.
