2027: APP is rooted in Imo State, says Njesi

..Cautions against attack

Ahead of 2027 general elections in Nigeria and barely two weeks to Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC lifting ban for political parties to commence campaign, Hon. Ernest Njesi of All Peoples Party, APP said the political party is well rooted in all the nooks and crannies of Imo State, even as he cautioned other political parties in the State to be wary of undue political attacks and intimidations.

Njesi who’s Imo State Chairman of the political party with big elephant as her Logo, disclosed this on Thursday while briefing the press with some members of the party’s State Executive on the readiness of the party in the forthcoming campaign and elections, at the conference room of the party’s State Secretariat located at late Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu glass house, Ugwu Orji in Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State.

The Chairman expressed satisfaction that the political party has continued to be stronger and united even after their congresses and primaries, noting also that the party has established strong grassroot presence and structures in all the 27 council areas, 305 electoral wards and 657 autonomous communities in the State.

He equally informed that all the political party’s candidates for the 3 senatorial zones and 10 House of Representatives have been uploaded in INEC portal while assuring that soon INEC would also upload the party’s 27 House of Assembly candidates.

The political stalwart re-emphasized that all the party’s candidates for the forthcoming elections are men of integrity and pedigree, and with patriotic passion for quality and effective representations.

According to him, “APP in Imo State is the political party to watch in the forthcoming coming elections, our candidates are popular and people’s oriented.
We’re working hard to win all the elections despite undue harassment and attacks.

“Imo APP on daily bases is growing stronger and stronger. The party candidates are doing well, ever ready to traverse the nooks and crannies of the State for the campaign next month August.

“Our acceptability by the masses already is passionately volcanic. In all honesty, we are the political party to beat in the forthcoming elections” he re-assured.

Njesi, speaking on the recent attacks on the party’s secretariat enjoined members of the party to remain calm no matter the level of provocations.

He however said, “the party is not going to fold her hands in akimbo for any further serious attack, threat or intimidation, we can not continue to play calm even though we’re dedicated to the constitutional rules of the game.

“Nobody owns monopoly of violence, as for this forthcoming elections we are ready and prepared” he warned.

The Chairman lampooned the governance focus of Governor Hope Uzodimma of APC in the State and rated the Shared Prosperity administration low in all socioeconomic indices of development and transformations.

He assured that his party’s governance of the State if given the mandate will bring a quotum leap in terms of human capacity building, infrastructural developments and transformations, agricultural revolutions, provision of social amenities, good, purposeful and inclusive governance among other socioeconomic impacts.

The party chieftain further lamented that all the infrastructural destructions since the inception of Governor Uzodimma’s administration that non is adding value to the State developmental needs, even as he equally decried the incessant harassment of poor traders and artisans in the State urban cities by the agents of the State government.

Njesi while expressing regrets that the State government is creating poverty confirmed that the vandalization attack on the party State Secretariat last Sunday, 13/07/2026 is a gospel truth, “we are peace loving and law abiding political party, even though, no person owns a monopoly of violence.

” We as a political party is also worried on the level of insecurities that have bedeviled Imo State since the inception of APC administration, it’s our demands that the State government should as a matter of exigency protect her citizenry and their properties and tackle the anti social vices headlong, instead of playing lips services”.

Earlier in his speech, Ambassador Steve Nnadi, the party’s State Publicity Secretary while thanking the media for all their supportive efforts, especially as it concerns the political party’s vision and mission, equally applauded media practitioners in the State for their vibrancy and social crusading efforts.

Nnadi further expressed willingness of the political party in having a collaborative partnership with the State media practitioners and enjoined them to remain bounded with the professional ethics and tenets that anchors on objective and constructive criticism and reportage.

Among members of the political party’s State executive members who were present during the well attended press briefing are; Barr.Dr. Uchechukwu Nwosu(Legal Adviser), Chief Dr. Sylvester Duru Ugboaku (Financial Secretary), Chief Ugochukwu Uju ( Assistant Financial Secretary), Hon Chinonye Ezuruike (Asst. Youth Leader), Chief Eddy Nwosu (Deputy Financial Secretary), and Engr. Wisdom Echefu (Deputy State Publicity Secretary) among others.
