5th Dynamite Opens: A Career-defining Opportunities In Mind-Sports-Educationist Molumo

The forthcoming 5th Dynamite Opens Scrabble Tournament (DOST) has been described as a career-defining opportunities in Mind-Sports by Heritage Global Academy Proprietor Luqmon Molumo.

The tournament now in it’s 5th installment, has played a strategic entry point for first time players who will be making their first word on the board in an organised scrabble atmosphere as well as compete among players who are in the opens category.

DOST over the years has played a critical role in positioning greenhorns for the upper echelon in the scrabble stratosphere.

Interestingly, an Inter-Secondary School Scrabble and Spelling Bee competition will feature in this edition as a way of increasing the intellectual capacity of participating students the organisers stated.

In the same vein, Molumo echoed the underlying importance and the positive impact the tournament will have on the young ones when they converge at the Agege Local Government Area Secretariat for the 2-day competition starting this weekend from April 18 to 19.

According to the educationist,
“Dynamite Opens Scrabble Tournament serves as a high-stakes, competitive bridge between amateur play and professional mastery. For students, the impact is multi-dimensional, ranging from cognitive development to career-defining opportunities in “mind sports.”

He further revealed his expectations as many players across the country have registered their interest in participating in the 18-round competition.

“The 5th Dynamite Scrabble Opens (DSO) in 2026 is poised to be a milestone edition for the tournament series, specifically known for being the “proving ground” of Nigerian Scrabble.” He continued , “Given it’s history of launching amateur players into the Master’s category, the expectations for this year are centered on higher stakes, intensified competition, and broader institutional participation.”

A Celebrity Doubles has also been hooked on this edition with the aim of giving participants an opportunity to meet role models who have been influential on the game.

Players with rating points from 0-1119 will contest for exposure, honour, cash and rating points at the tournament which has been widely acknowledged as the best threshold for development.
