The nation’s apex football players union, ANFPU has congratulated former Green Eagles winger Felix Owolabi (Owoblow) on his birthday.
The Board of Trustees chairman of the All Nigeria Football Players Union (ANFPU) Chikelue Iloenyosi in a release described Owolabi as a soccer legend with a difference.
He pointed out that Owolabi who was part of the then Green Eagles squad that made history by lifting the Nations Cup for the very first time for the country is a role model per excellence.
“Owolabi not only played the game but went forward to develop himself intellectually. He is today one of the nation’s most educated ex internationals. We are proud of him and wish him long life in good health as he celebrates his birthday.”
Iloenyosi charged the nation’s upcoming footballers to emulate the Ibadan based legend, even as he assured that ANFPU would play it’s role well in the area of players welfare.
It would be noted that ANFPU which was formed just last month has since been recognized by the nation’s soccer governing body, NFF as the apex players union in the country.
