Lion Nwoye declares readiness to take Nigerian boxing by storm

Promising Nigerian boxer, Prince Lion Leo Nwoye says he has what it takes to make it to the top of professional boxing not only in the country but outside the shores of Nigeria.
The fighting Policeman who had a good amateur experience before joining the paid ranks told newstap.com shortly after recording a draw last Saturday against Bartholomew Aboy Abuchi in their national catchweight challenge contest at the just concluded Rhythm of Boxing championship organised by Monarch Promotions that he’s ready to win titles for the country whenever the opportunity comes.
” I want to tell you that am ready to face any opponent in my weight category because as a Lion, I fear nobody in the ring. The ring belongs to me and anybody who dares me will regret his action
” Those that have been following me from my amateur days will testify that I have what it takes to rule the world of boxing but my only problem is that I don’t have a manager who can make things happen and give me good fights but I’m not losing hope because I know that so long as I keep on being in top form, an opportunity will surely come one day “, he stressed.

Nwoye who’ve had 12 fights since joining the paid ranks winning five of those fights, drew five and lost two was optimistic that with a good manager, he can do or surpass what the likes of Hogan Kid Bassey, Obisia Nwankpa, Eddie Ndukwu, Samuel Peter and Anthony Joshua did to put the country’s name in the global boxing map.
He was particularly grateful to Monarch Promotions for giving him opportunity to showcase his talent saying; that the company has raised the bar in boxing promotion in the country and must be encouraged to succeed.
” All that is delaying my further progress in boxing is absence of a manager, once am able to get a good one, I believe the sky will be my limit.
” It’s equally important I use this opportunity to commend Monarch Promotions for the opportunity given to me to fight last Saturday. It was an awesome experience and I hope and pray to be part of their future promotions because they’ve really raised the bar in boxing promotion in the country.
” I also want to commend Nigerian Police Force and the Inspector General of Police for the encouragement the Force is giving sports men and women to excel and I promise not to disappoint”, he concluded.
