Don’t underrate Bafana Bafana, Inyama warns Eagles
From George Aluo, Alexandria
Veteran journalist cum football buff, Pastor Emeka Inyama has warned that the Super Eagles must not underrate South Africa’s Bafana Bafana in Wednesday’s AFCON 2019 quarterfinal.
Inyama who is the chairman of Abia Warriors and Proprietor of Carl Soccer Academy, Umuahia told The Nigerian Xpress Sports here in Alexandria that after beating the host, Egypt, South Africa is fired up and would come out smoking against Nigeria.
“The Eagles should not make the mistake of under rating them. Given the head to head between both countries, Nigeria has a clear edge, but given the setting now, Eagles must not underrate them. The match would be tough because the South Africans are now fancying their chances of going all the way. Bafan Bafana are a compact side, they play fluid football and very tactical. Eagles must up their game and have self confidence. Eagles would need to work extra hard,” Inyama said.
South Africa bundled out Egypt at the Cairo stadium Saturday night in what has turned out to be the biggest upset of the on going AFCON.
The Eagles on their part beat Cameroon by 3-2 in Alexandria to set up the big quarterfinal clash against Bafana Bafana.
