3 Days To Go: Legends Start Arriving Thursday As Toptier Opens Accreditation For Legends Football Game

With just three days to go to the Legends Football Game 2026, football legends will start arriving in Lagos from Thursday, as Toptier Sports Management opens accreditation for the star-studded encounter.

The game holds on Sunday, 8th November 2026, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos Island, Lagos.

According to the organisers, most of the ex-players have confirmed their arrival dates, with the first batch expected to touch down in Lagos on Thursday ahead of the big game.

Toptier Sports Management, the convener of the Legends Football Game 2026, said preparations have entered the final phase, with accreditation for media, officials and stakeholders now ongoing to ensure a smooth and well-organised event.

A media briefing has also been scheduled for Friday, ahead of the match, where organisers will unveil final plans, confirm the full list of legends, and brief journalists on match-day arrangements, accreditation and access.

Convener Chichi Nwoko, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Toptier Sports Management, said the team is leaving no stone unturned to deliver a top-class show.

Nwoko has continued to receive praise for the level of organisation, professionalism and excellence Toptier has brought into the planning of the event, from logistics and accreditation to players’ welfare and fan experience.

Toptier Sports Management is known for excellence and has been active in sports development, particularly Nigerian football. The organisation has once again demonstrated its capacity to host an event of international standard.

The Legends Football Game is expected to attract football legends, stakeholders and fans to Lagos for a celebration of the game.

The star-studded encounter will feature Nigerian icons from the celebrated 1994 and 1996 Super Eagles squads, led by Daniel Amokachi and Mutiu Adepoju. They will face a formidable African Legends squad headlined by former African Footballer of the Year Emmanuel Adebayor.

Adebayor was a star player in the Arsenal team, where he made his name as one of the most feared strikers in the English Premier League. The Togolese legend, who also starred for Manchester City, Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur, is expected to be one of the biggest attractions in Lagos.

He will be joined by Senegalese great El-Hadji Diouf, former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah and Ivorian legend Didier Zokora.

Other African legends expected in Lagos include Ghana’s John Paintsil and Anthony Baffoe, Senegal’s Khalilou Fadiga, Burkina Faso’s Aristide Bance, and Cameroon’s Rigobert Song and Alexandre Song.

The game celebrates 30 years since Nigeria’s historic 1996 Atlanta Olympic triumph, the 1994 AFCON title and the 1994 FIFA World Cup outing.

This event will also serve as a platform for entertainment and networking, while giving young footballers the chance to interact with legends who paved the way for the game in Nigeria and beyond.
