Organisers pledge exciting Dr. D. K. Olukoya Ibile football cup as registration begins in Lagos

Organisers of the 2nd edition of the annual Dr. D. K. Olukoya Ibile Football Cup have pledged a splendid championship in Lagos when the tournament kicks off between May 23 and 30, 2023.
Chief organiser  of the competition who also doubles as chairperson of the Lagos State Football and other Sports Supporters club, Alhaja Shade Gbajumo told our correspondent that there would be exciting football and orderliness among several teams in and around Lagos State throughout the duration of the weeklong championship as teams from Ikeja, Badagry, Epe, Lagos Island and Ikorodu jostle for the glamorous tournament won last year by a team from Ikorodu.
“The organisers are grateful to Dr.D. K. Olukoya, General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry and a true man of God, for his continued resolve to back youth football development in Lagos State. We have have pledged to encourage him with quality organisation in this 2nd edition and there would be no compromise on discipline and fairness”, began the ever lively Shade Gbajumo on behalf of the main organising committee.
According to her, registration of teams is on going at the Lagos State Football and other Sports Supports office at Teslim Balogun stadium, Surulere, Lagos even as she stated that only teams ready to abide by the organisers’ rules towards a smooth competition would be registered.
She further explained that there would be no late registration after this weekend just as she advised interested teams do so before the end of the week.
.“The tournament’s opening ceremony will hold at the Lagos Registration Centre Isheri on May 23 while the grand finale comes up May 30, 2023 at the Campus Mini Stadium Lagos Island”, she concluded.
The top three three teams in the tournament will take home N150,000.00 (One hundred and fifty thousand naira, N100,000.00 (One hundred thousand naira) and N50,000.00 (Fifty thousand naira) respectively.
