CAFCC: Enugu govt assures Rangers of maximum support

Enugu state Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Vitus Okechi, says the state government will give Rangers Int’l all the support it needs to conquer Africa after landing in the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup competition.
Okechi stated this in a media chat with sports journalists after Rangers defeated ASC Kara of Togo by a lone goal in the second leg of the playoff round at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Sunday.
The result ensured the the Flying Antelopes qualified on away goal rule. Rangers had lost 2-1 in the first leg decided in Lome, Togo, two weeks ago. 
“Govt will give Rangers 100% support because to get to the group stage in the competition was not an easy task. We shall encourage the team both financially and otherwise to do well in the group stage.”
The former Commissioner of Transport re-stated Enugu government’s resolve under Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to build on the magnanimity showed to the people of the state on Sunday, when fans and supporters of Rangers were given the opportunity to watch the match free of charge. 
According to him, the innovation which is one of his plans to change the face of sports in the state was necessary in order to encourage Enugu people to continue to come out to support Rangers whenever they are involved in high profile matches.
