Kayrom Lee Boss, Amb. Romoke Ayinde, Marks Birthday With Launch Of Oyo State Lifesaver Initiative

Chief Executive Officer of Kayrom Lee Group of Companies, Ambassador Romoke Rahmat Ayinde, has marked her 55th birthday with the launch of the Oyo State Lifesaver Initiative, a public-health intervention designed to equip members of the public with basic skills for responding to medical emergencies before professional help arrives.

The initiative was unveiled at the indoor basketball hall of Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, formerly known as Liberty Stadium, Ibadan. The event brought together healthcare professionals, government representatives, sports enthusiasts, cultural performers, friends and well-wishers to celebrate kayromlee and support her commitment to saving lives.

Among the dignitaries present was the Oyo State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun, who chaired the occasion.

The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga, was represented by ACP Coker Shadow. Others includes; Ambassador Yinka Agboola, publisher of PMParrot, Chairman Sport’s Writers Association of Nigerian (SWAN) Oyo State Chapter, Otunba Ayomikun, The Principal Islamic High School Ibadan, Mr. Fasasi Abdullah Babatunde and representative of the General Manager of the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS).

Rather than organise an elaborate birthday party, Amb. Ayinde, the Iyalaje Adinni of Oyo State, used the milestone to promote public awareness and emergency preparedness.

She challenged attendees to consider what they would do if someone suddenly collapsed or suffered a life-threatening medical emergency before an ambulance or healthcare professional arrived.

Speaking at the event, Kayromlee said the initiative was designed to encourage people to take appropriate action during emergencies rather than remain helpless spectators.

She emphasised that saving lives should not be left exclusively to doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals, as members of the public also have a role to play through prompt action and basic emergency response knowledge.

The event featured practical demonstrations of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), including chest compressions and rescue breaths, alongside other basic lifesaving procedures.

The demonstrations highlighted the importance of acquiring appropriate skills from qualified trainers and knowing when to contact emergency services during medical crises.

Kayromlee also called on government institutions, private companies, multinational corporations and operators in the oil and gas industry to support the initiative.

She stressed the need for investment in first-aid equipment, emergency facilities, trained personnel and effective arrangements for accessing professional medical assistance.

According to her, workplaces, sports facilities and public gathering venues should prioritise emergency preparedness because medical crises can occur without warning. She maintained that promoting lifesaving awareness must be backed by practical investments in the equipment, training and systems needed to protect human lives.

In his remarks, Olatunbosun commended Ayinde for dedicating her 55th birthday to a cause with potential public-health benefits. He praised her resilience, entrepreneurial spirit and contributions to skills development, healthcare, sports and community development, describing her decision to use the occasion to serve society as commendable.

The celebration also featured music, cultural performances and dancing as Ayinde made a grand entrance into the venue. Guests joined her in celebrating before the formal proceedings commenced with the national anthem and Ibadan anthem, combining the atmosphere of a birthday celebration with the purpose of a public-health campaign.

Ayinde has built a business profile through Kayrom Lee Group of Companies, with interests spanning fitness, wellness, catering, agriculture, fashion and related ventures.

She is also associated with RACBAR Academy, a sports-development initiative focused on identifying and nurturing young talents across racket, ball, aquatic and ring sports.

The launch of the Oyo State Lifesaver Initiative reinforces the need for sustained public education, access to qualified CPR training and stronger emergency response arrangements across communities.

Through the initiative, Kayromlee hopes to encourage individuals, businesses, government institutions, schools and sports organisations to embrace a shared responsibility for preserving human life, making her 55th birthday a platform for promoting community safety and public health.
