Oyo FA Throws Weight Behind Ex-Ibadan Professional FA Match

 

Ahead of the much anticipated football showdown amongst Ex-Ibadan Professional Footballers Association EIPFA, Chairman, Oyo State Football Association, His Royal Highness, Oba (Dr) James Oluyemi Odeniran has given his full support to the exciting game coming up in the ancient city of Ibadan.

 

Addressing newsmen on Thursday, the ex-FIFA badged referee, Oba Odeniran commended the meticulous planning of Obideyi-led Committee, highlighting the security apparatus, medical services, logistics and other fan engaging strategies which he claimed are in line with global best practices. According to the astute football administrator:

 

“On behalf of the board of Oyo State Football Association, I wish to affirm our support and sanction of the upcoming football match amongst the Ex-Ibadan Professional Footballers Association scheduled to hold on 31st May, 2026 at Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan. We are fully aware of the game, and we hereby sanction the much anticipated game to hold as scheduled.”

 

“The EIPFA has really done well in carrying along all the critical stakeholders in football space, particularly professional footballers from Ibadan extraction and building exciting ambience towards the game.”

 

“Oyo State Football Association remains a football regulator with a mandate to ensure a full compliance from practitioners and we shall continue to demonstrate commitment towards supervising and monitoring the rules of the games in line with global best practices.” Oba Odeniran posited

 

 

The iconic football match will bring elegant footballers with a rich mix of legendary names such as Temitope Obideyi, Segun Abiodun, Kola Edivaldo, Bayo Adigun, Kazeem Kasali, Nafiu Adepoju, Ademola Ikudaisi, Yemi Adesanya, Segun Atere, Kola Ige and others who once thrilled fans with their brilliance.

 

 

According to the latest information, the day will witness the official launch of the EIPFA School of Sports, under the royal presence of Oba Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja and Alhaji Chief Bayo Oyero, further adding prestige to what promises to be a truly historic and unforgettable football celebration.
