The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has officially announced the commencement of the first phase of the 2026 National Division One and Two Leagues for male and female teams, scheduled to take place at the Indoor Sports Hall, Moshood Abiola National Stadium Package B, Abuja from May 23 to June 7.
This announcement marks another major milestone in the federation’s continued commitment to strengthening the structure, competitiveness, and nationwide development of volleyball in Nigeria.
The leagues approved by the League Management Committee will assemble volleyball clubs, sports institutions, military organizations, and paramilitary teams from across the country in what is expected to be one of the most competitive domestic volleyball championships in recent years.

Chairman, Media and Publicity Committee, the federation views this championship as an essential platform for: Enhancing competitive volleyball standards across all divisions, discovering and nurturing emerging talents, promoting national unity through sportsmanship, strengthening institutional participation in Nigerian volleyball and Preparing athletes and clubs for greater continental and international opportunities
As the governing body for volleyball in Nigeria, the NVBF remains steadfast in its mission to elevate the sport by organizing professionally structured leagues that create opportunities for athletes, coaches, referees, and administrators. Speaking on the significance of the upcoming championship, the leadership of the federation emphasized that the league is not merely a tournament, but a strategic developmental pathway designed to reposition Nigerian volleyball for sustainable growth and excellence. Under the leadership of Engr. Musa Nimrod, President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, alongside the Board of Administration, the federation has continued to prioritize reforms and programs aimed at boosting grassroots participation, institutional competitiveness, and elite volleyball performance.
