Ardova Handball League : Safety Shooters, Kano Pillars draw as Benue Buffaloes earn first win

Safety Shooters and Kano Pillars shared the spoils on Friday in an intense match beffiting of two former champions on Match Day 5 of the Ardova Handball Premier League 2024 phase 1 going on in Benin City, the Edo State Capital.
The two former champions who have won five premier titles between them, played out an exhilarating 21-21 draw match which was like a cup final.
Other matches in the men category saw Benue Buffaloes earn their first victory in the league as they defeated Seasider Boys of Lagos 28-25 while Sunshine Kings also earned their first victory in the league, defeating Adamawa Warriors 28-24
Niger United had a huge scare but somehow defeated Rima Strikers 29-28 while Tojemarine Academy defeated De Defenders 27-21.
In the women category, starting with the last match of the day, Defender Babes had to bring all their experience to bare as they defeated an exciting Rivers Queens side 29-26 in what turned out to be worthy of closing the match day in grandstyle.
Earlier in the women category, Plateau Peacocks easily defeated Bendel Dynamos 32-21 while Imo Grasshoppers also got a comfortable 34-21 victory over COAS Babes.
Defending champions, Safety Babes are still unbeaten as they defeated Delta Queens 30-23.
