Following the recent faceoff between the 2027 Presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Peter Obi and the Governor of Anambra State Professor Chukwuma Soludo, former Education Minister, Prof. Fabian Osuji has frowned at the attitude of Anambra State Governor, advising him to withdraw the allegations against Obi
Speaking on the issue, the erudite Professor expressed displeasure over the embarrassing and deep rooted face -off Soludo iginited against Obi which he described as unwarranted
According to the former Pro-Chancellor and Chairman Governing Council of University of Nigeria Nsukka, he as a proud Igbo man, is highly embarrassed by the attitude of Soludo, advising him to retrace his steps now that it is still early.
“As a scholar and proud Igbo man, I’m highly embarrassed by the attitude of Soludo and I don’t know what he wants to gain by trying to tarnish the good reputation of Peter Obi who’s gaining popularity on daily basis across the country.
“His behaviour to me is not only childish but is borne out of envy because of the rising profile of Peter Obi and I had expected him to support him in his Presidential ambition, instead of trying to paint him black.
Prof Osuji reminded Soludo that it was in the spirit of Igboness that himself, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo- Iweala and Oby Ezekwesili recommended him to President Obasanjo to be appointed Economic Adviser and later Governor of Central Bank and wondered why he should allow people use him against his own brother
He advised Soludo to concentrate on the governance of his state and put a stop to his hostility towards Peter Obi whom he said is enjoying overwhelming support all over the country, just as he reminded him that his embarrassing statements is capable of making Ndi Igbo both at home and in the Diaspora turn against him
