GRASSROOTS SUMMIT: NESG COMES ON BOARD AS TECHNICAL PARTNERS

The Office of Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Grassroots Sports Development has confirmed the coming on board of Nigeria Economic Summit Group as technical partners of the sports summit billed for next month in Abuja.
Prince Adeyinka Adeboye who is President Tinubu’s SSA on Grassroots Sports disclosed yesterday that his office has held several meetings with the NESG ahead of the two-day summit billed for November 18 and 19 at the Banquet Hall of Aso Rock Presidential Villa.
“As we speak, I can confirm to you that the NESG are our technical partners and we are more than impressed with what they are contributing to this all-important event,” Adeboye stated.
He stressed that the summit which has President Tinubu’s approval would attract major stakeholders from within and outside the country.
“We are looking forward to a summit that would draw a new road map for sports in this country and getting the NESG to partner with us clearly shows that we are on course.”
It would be noted that the two-day summit has the theme: “Creating a New Pathway for Sustainable Grassroots Sports Development.”
The Summit comes at a crucial period when the conversation around reforming Nigerian sports has increasingly shifted towards the need for stronger structures, improved facilities, better competitions and sustainable talent-development programme.
