2025 AFROBASKET CHAMPIONSHIP : D’Tigress beat Mozambique, book quarter-final ticket

Defending champions, D’Tigress Monday out dunked Mozambique 60-55 to book a quarter-final ticket in the ongoing Afro basketball Championship holding in Cote d’Ivoire, making it two wins in two matches for the Nigerian girls.

It was a tough one from start to finish. Mozambique came out strong and stayed in control for most of the game, just like they did in 2023. But once again, Nigeria showed why they’re champions, fighting back when it mattered most.

Ezinne Kalu stepped up big with 16 points, despite a few missed free throws (8/13 from the line). Promise Amukamara dropped 13 points, hitting 3 of her 7 shots from beyond the arc. And Murjanatu Musa gave us solid minutes in the paint, finishing with 12 points on 6-of-11 shooting.
