Akwa Utd, Boboye strike fresh deal

Coach Kennedy Boboye will remain as head coach of Akwa United FC till 2021.

This is because his contract has been extended for the 2020/2021 football season.
The contract signing and unveiling took place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
Chairman of Akwa United, Elder Paul Bassey performed the unveiling.
Speaking, Elder Bassey said the contract extension followed the quality service rendered by the coach during the last season.
He noted that the club have been a factor in the Nigerian football in the last four seasons, assuring that Akwa United would start this year’s league on a spring to secure comfortable place in the league.
Elder Bassey maintained that Akwa United have disciplined team this year and described the players as young and determined boys who are ready to make differences.
He solicited the support of the to enable the the club to perform creditably.
According to the Akwa United Chairman, the state government has cleared all entitlements of the players of Akwa United and assured of quality games this season.
The Coach, Mr. Kennedy Boboye said he is coming to deliver Akwa United and place them on the top position of the league.
Speaking, the chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Amos Etuk thanked the management of Akwa United for the initiative to reposition Akwa United for effective football season.
Comrade Etuk however decried the continued postponement of the resumption of Nigeria Professional Football and called on football administrators in the country to live above board.
On his part, the chairman of Sport Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Comrade Emmanuel Akpan expressed delight at the unveiling of the coach for the  state football team.
Comrade Akpan  assured of partnership with the club to take it to another height.
The  event also featured the unveiling of the home and away Jerseys for Akwa United FC
It had in attendance stakeholders in the sports sector including the Vice President, South South of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Prince Bonny Nyong.
Coach Boboye has won league trophies for Plateau United, Lobi Stars among others.
