Cyber Bullying : Coalition of Justice Advocates appeal to Nigerian Police, German Embassy to take action against Comfort Ilesanmi

A non governmental organisation, Coalition of Justice Advocates in conjunction with affected platforms and individuals have made a passionate appeal to the Nigerian Police and the German Embassy to investigate the activities of a German based Nigerian social media influencer, Mrs.Comfort Tolani Ilesanmi and prosecute her for cyber bullying.

They stated this Friday, March, 13, 2026, during a press conference where they listed some of the cyber crimes she committed against their members

According to the organisation which was formed to seek justice for late Nigerian musician, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba popularly known as ‘Mohbad’ who lost his life on September, 12, 2023, at the age of 27, Comfort Ilesanmi has used her numerous social media platforms to label them as liars and unserious people and even alleged assassination plots against her without evidence to prove her allegation against their members.

Leader of the Group, Ademola Taiwo noted that apart from the above, she has gone ahead to publish photographs of their members’ children without their consent, bullying their parents as well as publishing ‘ Rest In Peace’ messages on their members which has caused them physiological, mental and physical distress and loss of business opportunities; saying that her activities is against the law of the land and natural justice

“We want to draw the attention of the Nigerian Police and the German Embassy on the activities of Mrs. Comfort Tolani Ilesanmi who has been carrying out cyber bullying of our members through her various social media handles from her base in Germany.

” She uses her social media handles such as TikTok_comfybackup, YouTube, Facebook , comfy TV Channel and others to bully our members and minors which is against the various cyber laws of the country.,

“In Nigeria, her action contravenes multiple Nigerian laws like the Cyber Crime Act of 2015 which has provision for punishment for cyber stalking , cyber bullying, defamation, publishing and transmission of harmful or false information.

” LIt’s important to note that the Nigerian Data Protection Act of 2023 and Data Protection Regulation of 2019 also prohibits the dissemination of personal information without the person”s consent.
The criminal and penal code is also against defamation and injurious falsehood while the Violence Against Persons Provision Act recognizes online harassment as constituting psychological violence and emotional abuse to the victim.

” The Child Right Act of 2003 is also relevant in this matter given the unlawful publication of minor images and personal data which is prohibited under the various laws of the land”, he stated.
Some members of the association namely; Sumola Olajide,, Mrs.Temitope Ikulala Owonikoko Jamiu and Funmilayo Alade took time to explain different physiological trauma they went through as a result of her bullying, lamenting that her action made them suffer tangible social consequences that affected their livelihood and social standing in the society.

The group called on the Nigerian Police Force Criminal Investigative Department, to open a formal investigation into Mrs. Comfort Ilesanmi online activities, secure and preserve digital evidence from social media platforms and telecom providers as well as collaborate with Interpol, German authorities and Data regulators and protection agencies to make a discreet investigation.

They also appealed for urgent Court Order to revoke unlawful contents from her social media platforms, restrain her from continuous harassment of their members as well as protect people’s privacy

The Group also urged the Nigerian Police to upon completion of investigation, to prosecute her and where evidence at their disposal warrants extradition, all international corporation mechanism should be pursued.

They further requested for urgent remedial measures that requires immediate removal of defamatory publications and images from all her social media handles and a public apology by her across the same platforms as well as continuous monitoring of her social media accounts to prevent replacement of the publications and further bullying of their members.

Meanwhile Counsel of the Group, Alpha Law Firms represented by Barristers Emmanuel Oroko and Monisola Odion announced that they have written a petition to the Police on the matter and they also intend to send another petition to the German Embassy on the activities of Mrs. Comfort Ilesanmi just as they assured that the Law firm will pursue all legal proceedings relating to the matter to its logical conclusion.
